Zachary M. Carter, D.M.D.
Dr. Zachary Carter, a Tampa native, decided to become a dentist during his junior year of high school. He was spending a lot of time shadowing with his own dentist and fell in love with the amount of patient interaction dentistry provided. Dr. Carter is very passionate about educating patients on the link between oral health and systemic health. He is confident that within the next 10 years people will have a better understanding that when they visit the dentist, it is not just for their teeth, but to improve their overall health.
When he is not at work, Dr. Carter loves to be at the gym. He says it is his time to de-stress and do something physical. He is also a huge sports fan and loves to support all his Tampa teams, as well as his undergrad, the University of Florida.
Dr. Carter is also a member of the American Academy of Clear Aligners Study Club.
Dr. Carter attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. He then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for dental school where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Dr. Carter decided to pursue a career in dentistry while shadowing my personal dentist in high school. He quickly fell in love with patient care and the way dentistry is able to combine technology, science, and art to better people’s lives. Whether it’s relieving pain or creating a new smile, dentistry provides a way for me to impact the lives of people in my community. As a born and raised Tampa native, working at Friendly Smiles allows Dr. Carter to provide that same community with excellent dental care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Carter is passionate about fitness and taking care of himself. He enjoys traveling, learning about other cultures, and sports. On a normal weekend, you can find him cheering on all our local sports teams.
